My Strong Boys

This morning at breakfast, Connor asked if he could eat some of my scrambled eggs. I asked him if he really, wanted some because scrambled eggs are not something he would typically eat. We have tried to get him to eat them before by telling him that they were full of protien that would help him have strong muscles but that line doesn't always work. Connor said "Yeah Mom, I REALLY want some. I have eaten them before and they have made me super strong! See." And with that he got into a incredible hulk/boxing stance and punched the dishwasher with all of his might. He stood there shaking his hand in a little bit of shock for a second, then turned and said "Wow, Mom! I am so strong that that punch hurt my knuckles!" I just had to laugh at his logic. He did eat some eggs though, so I guess the pain was probably worth it!

Some Kids Have Imaginary Friends. . .

and some kids have cardboard boxes. This box once held the trampoline we put up in the backyard earlier this summer. Since then, Parker has claimed this box as his "car." He spends much of his day climbing in and out of this box and loading it with all of his precious toys and treasures. As you can tell, it has been through a lot. Parker has even given it a "car wash" with the hose and the game still continues. Who knows what will happen when the box has been crushed for the final time. It is not going to be a good day. Until then. . .

Our Overnight Camping Trip

We had a little adventure last week when Jeremy came home a little early and announced that he thought we should go camping. We had the car packed up and we were on our way within the hour. We spent the rest of the afternoon swimming at the resivoir. Connor and Parker had a good time splashing in the waves and having waterfights with Jeremy and I. We packed up the car again about the time the sun started to go down, and drove a little bit farther through the canyon until we found a great little campground. The boys had so much fun gathering firewood, helping their Dad build the fire, roasting marshmallows, and sleeping in the tent. Parker was very upset the next day when he realized we were packing up to go home. I think it is one grand adventure we will have to try again this summer.

The Latest and Greatest from Basicgrey

This last month or so, I have had a fun opportunity to make a few cards to display the new paper lines Basicgrey is introducing at a scrapbooking trade show in Chicago. I had a blast playing with all of the new papers, buttons, and brads, as well as using some of their existing rub-ons and stamps. It is always so much fun to see what the designers at Basicgrey come up with. Here is a little sneak peak of the 5 new paper lines avaliable from Basicgrey. Coming to a scrapbook store near you soon!
This is paper line is called Ambrosia. All of the papers are done in shades of orange and black/grey. The colors are very bright and the patterns are extremely striking. The butterfly paper is my favorite!

Granola is another paper line at the top of my list. I love the navy-blue and brown color scheme. The animal prints are lots of fun and paired with the blue it is a definite winner. I am the only girl at my house so, I had ideas coming out my ears of ways to use this paper to scrapbook my little guys adventures.

Urban Prairie is a very fun and colorful line. I love the bright green, yellow, blue and pink that make up this line, not to mention the way cute bird and ladybug motifs. It's a super fun and cheerful paper.

Eva is also a fun new paper line. This card is dont mostly out of the papers that are dark plum, but I could have easily made one in shades of green or pink. Endless possiblilties!

The last paper line is called Offbeat. It is a good mixture of fun geometric patterns and a few cute shapes. I love the bird paper and the veggie paper in this line. It is also a bright collection with red, orange, yellow, and greens. Fun, fun, fun. All of the lines are so different from each other. There truly is something for everyone. Happy scraping!

After countless discussions with friends and neighbors about their adorable family blogs, I have decided to give this a shot. I hope you enjoy the little anecdotes of the everyday adventures at our house.
