A few things I couldn't resist

1. Adorable little baby dresses. I happened to pass by this cute little dress while shopping and I just couldn't resist it. I can already tell I am going to enjoy shopping for little girl things more than I should. It is just so much more fun than the typical jeans/sports shorts and t-shirts my boys wear.

2. Eggs. I know that I have teased my mother on more than one occasion about always buying a package of eggs when she goes to the store whether we needed them or not. Today, I had one of those "Oh my goodness, I am becoming my mother" moments when I got home from the store today to find that I have three dozen eggs sitting in my fridge. I honestly thought we were out. Sorry for all of the teasing Mom. I guess I deserve a little razzing of my own now. I guess it is a good thing that easter is around the corner.

3. Cadbury mini eggs. I think that my OBGYN is going to freak out during my next appointment. I have probably gained 10 pounds this month and I don't mean baby/pregnancy weight. It is very unfortunate for me that March is the month that you can buy Cadbury Mini Eggs AND Girl Scout Cookies. However, they are only around one month out of the year so it is nice to enjoy them while they are still available. Lets just say I will be stocking up of the fruits and veggies in April.

Anonymous said...: I LOVE mini eggs too so I totally can relate.... I guess you have enough eggs to do an egg decorating activity with the boys in time for Easter. Either that or you'll be hosting a big breakfast party!

Thanks for reminding me that Easter is just right around the corner. I need to start planning.

I have not yet purchased one single package of Easter candy and am proud of it! I am going shopping later today, though. It could get ugly.

Brook said...: I would agree that little girl shopping is way more fun! I have to buy all the kids clothes online so it goes something like 1 for a boy, 1 for a girl. So lets just say that Ella has lots and lots of clothes. I say that you can never have too many cute shoes or adorable baby cardigans. Too bad our weather is so different from yours so I could pass some of it along.

Arron loves those Cadbury eggs. They didn't sell them here until this year so he'd have his Mom send him a big box of them to get his fix.

Katie said...: Whenever people told me that buying girl stuff was more fun than boy stuff, I ususally said something like, "But boy clothes are cuter than they used to be. It's still fun." or something like that, and believed it. Whatever. I don't think I ever got as excited about dressing up my boys as I have with getting Tessa ready for church. We go through LOTS of eggs around here, I but at least 18 every week! I would but the big 5 dozen thing at Sam's but I don't want to be one of those kind of families yet!

Silly Quotes from my Crazy Kids

Parker: "Mom, how many Box Tops do you think we would need to save to send the whole school to Disneyland?"

Me: "Connor, can you stop being so CRAZY, you are driving me nuts!"

Connor: "But CRAZY is what I do best!"

Parker: "Mom, breakfast is so good I could shoot my head off!"
Me: "What?"
Connor: "He means it is SO good it BLOWS HIS MIND."

Parker: "These chips make my mouth hot."

Connor was very intent on being Dracula for Halloween this year. (One of the most popular costumes this year I've heard.) I told him he should learn to say "I want to suck your blood!" Connor's reply: "Why would I want to say that?" I don't know where he learned about vampires and Dracula, but I definitely think we need to check his source.

Me - commenting on Parker's choice of Halloween costume: "Hey Mr. Wolverine!"
Parker: "It's just Wolverine."
Me: "Do you like your scary claws?"
Parker: "Mom!" (imagine a slightly annoyed voice.) "The claws aren't scary. They are just REALLY STRONG!!!"

Parker: "Mom, I think I am sick."
Me: "What kind of sick? Your head or your tummy?"
Parker: "I think I'm 'Swine Flu' sick!"
(No, we don't have H1N1. But should my 4 year old really be freaked out about it?)

Parker: "I don't want TOO MANY dogs when I grow up.
Me: "Why not?"
Parker: "I don't want to end up like the guy with too many cats."
Me: "What happened to the guy with too many cats?"
Parker: "He had to put them in a laundry basket and sell them away."

Parker's comment on eating his Kit Kat bar.
"Look, their chocolate space bars."

Connor: "Mom, where is the zipper on this banana?"

Parker: "Look Mom! Dog poop."
Me: "Actually, I think that's horse poop."
Parker: "Oh Crap!"

My boys are going through a wrestling/beat each other up, berate and tease unmercifully phase. For family home evening I decided to read a story about bullying. Of course the moral of the story is that we should all be kind to one another. After talking about being kind to one another (even our brothers) I asked Connor if he was a bully. He replied, "Well, I am really nice to my friends. . ." and then with a little giggle and a look that said he was trying hard not to look proud of what he was saying "but I beat my brother up!"

Connor was being a little bit lippy to Jeremy the other day. Jeremy turned to Parker and asked him to remind Connor who was in charge. Parker's reply. . .
"Me Dad, I am in charge."

Connor: "Mom, did you know that your body is a Church?"

Me: "You mean your body is a temple?"

Connor: "Yeah! How did you know?"

He continued to share this message with my Mom when he informed her. "Grandma, did you know that your body is a temple and that you should quit smoking." Which is only funny because my Mom hasn't ever smoked. I guess he got the message in primary though.

Parker: "My Dad just needs a Jazz shirt and then he could play on their team. He could be on their blue team and they would win."

Connor: "I can't find the remote. I think it grew legs and walked away, but that just doesn't make sense.""

I woke Parker up on Thanksgiving Day with a gentle nudge and said, "Wake up buddy. It's Thanksgiving day!" He replied by sleepily saying, "Thank heavens! The pilgrims are hungry!"

Connor asked me this one sunday morning before church. "Mom, is it early out day at church today?" I replied by telling him that there isn't ever an early out day for church. In response he said, "You know, fast sunday. Don't we get out early on fast sunday because church goes faster on fast sunday?"

While packing, Connor and Parker found a few of Jeremy's old trophies from DECA competitions he competed in during High School where he was awarded first place in two separate events at the state level. After reading the inscriptions on the trophies to the boys, Connor exclaimed "WOW!!! Dad beat everyone in the whole state!"

Parker woke up this morning and noticed the sun shining up through the windows and stated "Hey, the sun came up and dried up all the rain!" (We've had a really rainy weekend.) Kudos to his nursery teachers for teaching him the "Eensy, Weensy Spider.

Parker's phrase this week is "Mokie is MY DOG!" Not a funny or cute bit of wit, just very loud and repetitive statement.

Parker has apparently watched way too much PBS. He answered a question the other day with this response: "Yes indeed!" Now does that sounded like an typical three year old response? (Not for my three year old.)

Connor: "Why do all the people in the "Jazz Building" cheer for the Jazz? Is it because they don't like the nasty Lakers?"

Connor: "Mom, what happens when you get sent to the Principals Office? Someone got sent there today, and I am not sure I want to find out."

Parker made this comment while eating a starburst candy "Sea stars make my belly happy."
